Lifetime Achievement Awards

The Judicial Section of the State Bar of Texas is accepting nominations for the Judicial Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Judicial Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually to a current or former Texas judge who is recognized by his or her peers as having a reputation for and commitment to judicial excellence; has achieved a significant length of service as a judge in Texas; and has demonstrated a long-term, consistent, and significant contribution to the betterment of the judiciary, access to justice, and the system of justice in Texas.

Nomination criteria:

1. Any current or former Texas judge who is a current member of the Judicial Section of the State Bar of Texas may nominate someone for the award.

2. All nominations must be submitted in writing and must be accompanied by supporting evidence that is sufficiently detailed to assist the committee in evaluating the nomination. That information may include a resume, media accounts, testimonials, and other information that will be helpful to the committee in evaluating the nomination.

3. Nominations must be received by email (at the address below) before 5 p.m. CDT August 3.

Please submit a nomination letter and accompanying documents to Jake Stoffle, SBOT Sections Department liaison to the Judicial Section.

This year’s award will be given at the Bar Foundation Luncheon during the Annual Judicial Conference.
